We work in the areas of labour rights, sexual and reproductive health and rights, climate justice and food sovereignty and for the protection of human rights as a collective.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-3624 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lac.org.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/AGS_members-300x271.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"271\" \/>We <strong>condemn<\/strong> the violence and hate speech targeting the Namibian LGBTI community since the landmark Judgment in which the Supreme Court confirmed the right of a foreign spouse in a same-sex marriage to be treated equally in terms of immigration laws.<\/p>\n<p>We <strong>condemn<\/strong> that institutions with power, such as religious and traditional authorities, are promoting violence and hate.<\/p>\n<p>We<strong> call on<\/strong> these institutions to respect and protect the rights of all within Namibia as was envisaged by the authors of the Namibian Constitution.<\/p>\n<p>We <strong>call on<\/strong> these institutions to respect the Judgment of the Supreme Court of Namibia.<\/p>\n<p>We <strong>confirm<\/strong> the basic human right to independent choice, in homes, in communities and in relationships.<\/p>\n<p>We <strong>confirm<\/strong> the right to dignity in a constitutional democracy.<\/p>\n<p>We <strong>celebrate<\/strong> love and diversity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Statement:\u00a0 SUPREME COURT JUDGMENT ON THE SAME-SEX COUPLES\u2019 IMMIGRATION RIGHTS CASE We, the partners of Afrikagrupperna, a Swedish solidarity organisation, are a group of diverse organisations from Angola, Namibia, Mozambique, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
