(Photos will be added.)<\/p>\n<p>3<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0place,\u00a0<strong>Delta Secondary School Windhoek,\u00a0<\/strong>from Khomas, with its comic titled\u00a0<strong>\u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lac.org.na\/projects\/lead\/Pdf\/comic_save_the_pangolins.pdf\">Save the Pangolins<\/a>\u201d<\/strong>, produced by the EcoClub of the school, winning 5000,- N$ in kind.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lac.org.na\/projects\/lead\/Pdf\/comic_save_the_pangolins.pdf\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-3908\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lac.org.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/eco_club_delta.jpeg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 543px) 100vw, 543px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lac.org.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/eco_club_delta-400x257.jpeg 400w, https:\/\/www.lac.org.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/eco_club_delta-367x235.jpeg 367w\" alt=\"\" width=\"543\" height=\"348\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nAnnouncing the winners, the director of the LAC, Ms Toni Hancox, stated:<br \/>\n<em>\u201cI want to congratulate the winning schools. I am very happy about the quality of entries received overall. We have seen a big improvement when compared to last year\u2019s entries and it gives me great hope that our learners are indeed advancing in environmental education.<br \/>\nWe thank all schools for participating in this important project, and I hope we can continue with this competition in the years to come.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The LAC received overall 53 entries, from 28 different schools, representing ten regions.<\/p>\n<p>A wide area of topics were covered, ranging from poaching of various animal species, illegal wildlife trade, illegal fishing, illegal dumping of waste in the ocean, water pollution, illegal sand mining, deforestation, illegal fires, and littering.<\/p>\n<p>The winning comics were selected based on originality, art, character, storyline, and the presence of any legal components.<\/p>\n<p>We thank each school for encouraging children to participate in the competition and more importantly for instilling a desire to protect our environment.<\/p>\n<p>The competition was funded by the LAC and Bread for the World (BfdW).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4>Joint Press Statement:\u00a0 Supreme Court Judgment in the Same-sex couples&#8217; immigration rights case<\/h4>\n<p>We, the partners of Afrikagrupperna, a Swedish solidarity organisation, are a group of diverse organisations from Angola, Namibia, Mozambique, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
