VS. NAMIBIAN MINISTRY OF DEFENSE
In a landmark case the LAC took the Namibian Ministry of Defense to court after an applicant was denied entry to the defense force because of his HIV status.

Arguing that the Ministory of Defense unfairly discriminated based on HIV status, LAC lawyers won the landmark case. In the court's ruling, it was determined that an employer may not exclude applicants solely based on their HIV status, in accordance with the Labour Act of 1992. The court also ruled that HIV tests alone do not assess the fitness of an applicant to perform a job.

SYLVI NELAGO SHIMI AND 22 OTHERS VS. GERHARDT SCHOLTZ AND OSHAKATI COUNTRY LODGE
Currently before the courts, the LAC is defending 22 employees of a lodge in northern Namibia who were tested for HIV without giving their informed consent. While the case is pending, the LAC is arguing that the business voilated the employees right to privacy and right to dignity.
