Norman Tjombe
Director
Norman TjombeAppointed as the LAC director in June 2004, Norman has been with the Centre since 1992, working first as a law student on an LAC scholarship and as a lawyer since 1996. Previous to his appointment as director, Norman was the Coordinator and lawyer for the LAC's Land, Environment and Development Project (LEAD). Norman serves on a number of Boards of not-for-profit organisations, including being the Chairperson of the Namibia NGO Forum, the umbrella organisation of civil society organisations in Namibia. Norman studied law at the University of the Western Cape with an LAC Scholarship and completed his law studies in November 1996 when he graduated with B.Juris and LL.B degrees.

Amon NgaveteneAIDS LAW UNIT (ALU)
Amon Ngavetene
Coordinator
With a Bachelor Degree in Education, Amon worked as a trainer and legal educator before taking over as ALU Coordinator in November 2006. Amon is currently completing his law degree with the University of South Africa.

Linda Dumba-Chicalu
Project Lawyer
Joining the LAC as a candidate legal practitioner in 2002, Linda worked with Huricon until she was admitted admitted as a legal practitioner in 2003, when she became the project lawyer for LEAD. In 2006, Linda studied for her masters at the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington D.C., with a focus on international human rights law. In October 2007, Linda returned to the LAC where she became the project lawyer for ALU where she specializes in HIV and AIDS and human rights law.

Maggy Amweelo
Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
With several years experience in assisting people living with HIV and AIDS in a professional capacity, Maggy returned to the LAC in 2008 after working as the ALU project assistant during 2003-'04.

Gabriel 'Gabes' Augustus
Legal Educator
With training in South Africa, Botswana and Namibia, Gabes joined the LAC in 2006 with six years experience of working for HIV and AIDS organisations across southern Africa.

Dianne Hubbard
Coordinator
Dianne Hubbard photoDianne has been the Co-ordinator of the GR&AP since it was established in 1993. She has degrees in English Literature from the University of North Carolina in the USA and the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, as well as a law degree with honours from Harvard Law School in the USA. She is listed in the 'A-Z of Political Personalities' in the Guide to Namibian Politics. Dianne serves on the board of trustees for Sister Namibia and Ombetje Yehinga.

Rachel Coomer
Public Outreach Consultant
Rachel has been with GR&AP since October 2007. She has a degree in Physiological Sciences from Oxford University in the U.K. and is trained as a technical writer, with particular skills in the production of education materials.

Sophie van Wyk
Project Assistant (GR&AP & LEAD)

Working in various administrative capacities, Sophie has been with the LAC since 1992.

Willem Odendaal
Willem OdendaalCoordinator
Willem joined the LAC's GR&AP in 1999, left in 2003 to study for a LLM in International Law at Oxford Brookes Univesity and returned in 2004 to take up his present post.

Zeka Alberto
Project Lawyer
First working as an interpreter in the Opuwo Magistrate's Court, Zeka studied with the University of South Africa and completed his law degrees at the University of Namibia, joining the LAC in 2002 as a consultant. Since serving as a trainee lawyer, Zeka has become the Community Paralegal Volunteer Training Program Coordinator and also specializes in land rights, San human rights and community-based natural resources management.

Roswitha Gomachas
Project Lawyer
A law graduate of the University of Namibia in 2003, Roswitha specializes in women and property rights, alsong with inheritance rights.

John Hazam
Consultant
During his 30 year career, John has worked in several African countries with parks, community-based natural resources management and environmental policies and legislation. Prior to working with the LAC, he was a technical advisor with Namibia's Ministry of Environment and Tourism for seven years.

Joseph Kahuika
Paralegal & Client Screener

Joseph is studying for his LLB and intends to work as a human rights lawyer.

Shadrack Tjiramba
Researcher
Shadrack studied Land Management at the Polytechnic of Namibia and is currently enrolled in the University of South Africa in post-graduate Land and Agrarian Studies. He is also an enthusiastic part time cattle farmer in the Omaheke region of eastern Namibia.

Toni Hancox
Toni HancoxCoordinator
Appointed as Co-ordinator of the Human Rights and Constitutional Unit in August 2000, Toni previously worked in private practice and for the government attorneys while qualifying via correspondence studies.  Toni is also admitted as a solicitor in England and is a qualified conveyancer.  Toni is currently on the Council of the Law Society in Namibia and is studying for her Masters through UNISA.

Serving as In-House Counsel for all LAC units and projects, along as the editor of The Namibian Law Report, Lynita is also an ordained Methodist minister with two degrees in theology.

Rudolf returned to the LAC in 2006, resuming the post he held from 1999 to 2004.

Joy has been with the LAC for more than 17 years and is the Centre's longest-serving staff member.
